Boo! The week starting October 31st!

Happy Hallowe'en readers! Hopefully your Hallowe'en is as spooky as you want it to be! As someone who works with elementary school aged children, I see Hallowe'en as both a blessing and a curse: where the fun & excitement of dressing up meets the inevitable change in behaviour caused by a week-long sugar high! :-) Good times indeed...

While welcoming ghosts, ghouls and fairy princesses to your door, be sure to tune in to The Strombo Show. As George loves Hallowe'en (it IS his favourite 'high holiday', after all), I am sure that this week's episode will be quite special.

1st Asian Bird Fair Davao

The 1st Asian Bird Fair was held at Waterfront Insular Hotel Davao at September 24-25, 2010. Me and Hubby was excited to go there, since it's just near to where we are staying. Hubby wants to see some rare birds in the fair. Upon our arrival, we saw first some nice photo exhibit of birds here are some of them.

Inside the hotel there was more activities, there was a show for kids. Hubby started to roam around to look for birds but, came back a little disappointed since, there was only a few birds during the fair, and all of it he saw already. Here are some of the birds displayed during the fair.

Though hubby was disappointed of not having to see more rare birds, for me it was still a nice event, since the entrance was free heheheheh.

Directors, Divas and more... Oh My!

Not sure if it was just me, but last week's 'Short' workweek felt anything but. Buoyed by turkey leftovers, we press on the best we can. On a positive note, if you have to be in your car for any length of tine - the Fall colours are remarkable. We are lucky to be in Canada where we actually have seasons don't you think?

I am anxious to see his latest 'The Hereafter'

May your giving of thanks include many positives in your life. And hey, even negatives deserve a thanks...when you have the ability to take something good from it. At times it may seem, as if there are far too many negatives in our life, but understanding the situation & the source can sometimes thrust us into the knowing, the acceptance & the lesson learned. A quick review of the poll results.

What people do with the extra time after The Hour, George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight ends is... 
Other. 22 people out of 30 said they do other than watching the comedy that follows on CBC (7 do watch), or watching scripted US talk shows (3 turn to Letterman or something) only 11 turn off the TV and turn on a partner and 8 people do some work after the show.
I know that adds up to more than 30. I allowed that people may chose more than one answer. What I didn't even suggest is people might go to sleep after the show. I find the show wakes me up and I want more show.
So the first poll was a lesson for us in offering more possibilities.
We'll take suggestions for poll questions if you have a good idea.

A 'bonus' show this week!

Greeting and salutations readers! This is my first post since the start of the new season. How are you enjoying the new George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight? I quite like the look of the show and have found the interviews to be very well done. My favourites thus far have been the 'pairs'...Martin Sheen & Emilio Estevez, as well as Gene Simmons and Shannon Tweed. I'm looking forward to see how the rest of the season unfolds.

This is a special week for George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight viewers, as we will be getting an EXTRA show tonight (Sunday), immediately following Battle of the Blades!

American born Jeremy Roenick has had quite an impressive career in a sport typically dominated by Canadians! As an eighteen year NHL veteran, Boston native Roenick played for several teams including the Chicago Blackhawks and the San Jose Sharks. He is only one of three US born players to have scored over 500 goals in the NHL. Since retiring, and in addition to his charity work, Roenick has taken a stab at broadcasting and now has a new gig as a judge on the the hugely popular CBC's Battle of the Blades.
