Dinner at Patok sa Manok Restaurant in Davao City

It's been quite long since hubby and me have brought Keona out for a stroll. We have been busy lately for some priorities and time adjustments and so last weekend, we decided to bond together with our little girl. We first had our lunch at Jollibee then off we went to SM City to witness the cyber expo there. Unfortunately, the crowd are so huge that we were not able to really get closer to the stage at the event center and just roam around the mall. Keona had fun playing on the toy car display and the salesperson assigned in the area was so kind to let Keona play with it. We then chose clothes for her and we were able to buy one.

On our way home, we dropped by a restaurant and eat there. It is located in Lanang Davao city, just near Davao Insular Hotel entrance. It was not a peak hour so Keona was very carefree roaming around the place as if it's hers.hehehe

Sharing to you some photos:

We actually frequent this restaurant because they offer a wide array of foods and the taste is really delicious. Sometimes, we just take out our order. My FIL's favorite in this restaurant are the kare-kare, kinilaw and milkfish. It was really a delight dining at this restaurant. They also accept deliveries. Have a nice day friends.

Lunch at Abreeza Mall Davao City

Last weekend, grandpa invited us for a lunch at the newly opened Abreeza Ayala Malls along J.P. Laurel Avenue, Davao City. Since its opening on May 12, 2011, Abreeza Mall has been flooded with so many people. There are many shops and restaurants inside the mall and others have not even opened yet.

We headed to the mall at around 11:30 in the morning just in time for lunch. When grandpa signaled to turn left to enter to the mall's parking area, the traffic officer signaled him to open his window and informed him there's no more available parking space in the mall's parking area. Whew, 800 capacity of the mall's parking area is not enough. Grandma mentioned that we'll just park in a nearby Redemptorist church but there's a big signage there saying "Abreeza mall goers are not allowed to park inside". So we just go on and when we passed by Chinabank, there's a vacant parking space so it was there that grandpa was able to park the car. Good thing it was a Sunday so the bank has no clients since it's closed.

There were so many people and we decided to eat at Dimsum Diner. We ordered beef brisket rice, siomai, spare ribs and watermelon shake and beef brisket noodles soup for our little Keona. We were not able to get a photo anymore because our little girl was very unruly.

We right away roamed inside the mall when we finished eating. Keona got excited when she saw kids playing in the entertainment area for there were so many kid's playing. We headed to the department store at Robinson's and bought some groceries. We also strolled to the different parts of the mall and we decided to go home when our little girl became so sleepy and tired.

Kwek-Kwek: My Fave Street Food

My fave kwek-kwek

condiments that makes kwek-kwek yummy

Me and hubby were strolling on the streets just having fun to have the "feel" of the pasko fiesta celebration. There are a lot of people on the street. Some are just strolling as well, like us. What I love are the foods. There are many to choose from.

One of my favorite street foods here in Davao City is the kwek-kwek. It's just actually an egg, boiled, soaked in a flour then fried. What makes it delicious is the condiments. It has to be soaked in a yummy spicy vinegar mixed with a little chilli powder to have the spicy taste and a little salt. You can add sliced cucumber or a seaweed which is readily available if you want.

Christmas Party at Mahan Beach Resort

We had a Christmas party at Mahan Beach Resort. We decided to hold our party in the beach for a change. We usually have our party in our workplace but make it different this time.

We arrive early in the morning and most cottages were already occupied except for one which was reserved for us. The function hall was filled with people partying, playing parlor games and eating.

When we were already settled and all our things were in place, our "angles" right away grilled the pork meat and fish we brought with us. Keona, me and hubby right away soak ourselves in the beach because the water is gradually receding since it was going low tide.

We were really having fun especially our angels. They played hide and seek, throw beach balls, swim and had fun in the water.

I like Mahan Beach Resort because it's very accessible. It's just near to the barge wharf so we can just walk from there. There was also no corkage so we can just bring with us foods and drinks we want without worrying of corkage fees. It is not also as crowded compared to other more famous beaches in Samal island.

Here are some photos of the resort...

Davao City Kerygma Conference 2010

Chad Borja rendering a song

souvenir items and book display

picture taking and signing

BSP convention hall before the Kerygma conference started

PICC music ministry

Mr. Obet Cabrillas

Mr. Pio Espanol

As I have mentioned in my earlier post, me and hubby attended the Kerygma Conference 2010 held at Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Convention Center located at E. Quirino Street, Davao City. We arrived there just in time for the schedule which is 8:00 o'clock in the morning.

At the start, I was a little bored because it did not start right away. There were reminders flashed on the screen like putting off the cellphone while the conference is going on, not sleeping during the conference. The sponsors for the event were also flashed on the big two screens beside the stage.

It was almost 9:00 o'clock already that the conference started. At the start, there were singing of praise and dancing. I was very excited when I first saw Bo Sanchez in person. I have always been his fan and he really is a good speaker. Everyone listened when he speaks. He told about the famous story in the bible, The Prodigal Son. He talked about how Jesus loved us so much and that his love is all-embracing. He loves us regardless of who and what we are. Honestly, I can't get enough of Bo Sanchez. I want more of his talk but he has to give way to other speakers.

Then there was speaker Brother Pio who talked about family. He shared about his family and how he's able to raise an amazing children. Next speaker was brother Obet Cabrillas who talked about the secrets of being a happy catholic.

Chad Borja rendered a song " The Prayer" and made a sharing about his faith experience when he was diagnosed with throat cancer. He pointed out that we should not stress ourselves and that we should not "sweat the small stuff". Life is too short to allow ourselves to be stressed out by these petty things. He is now based in Davao City and owns the Seraph productions.

The conference was a huge success with an attendees of 2, 300 people. They said that once a conference is started in a particular place, it will go on every year. I'll definitely attend again next year if there is one.

Davao city celebrated the feast of the Immaculate Conception last Wednesday, December 8, 2010. San Pedro Cathedral was packed with people attending the Eucharist celebration. San Pedro street was in fiesta mood. The street was decorated with buntings and there were a lot of booths selling ukay-ukay, products made in Davao and agricultural plants. The city government joined the festive atmosphere by celebrating the Pasko Fiesta since it's already December.
