And as always, we deliver the Magnificent Seven as we round up some of this week's best including Vancouver's scottish punk outfit The Real McKenzies, Lucero, Jack White and The Boss.

Heinrich Rudolf Hertz was born February 22, 1857, he was a German physicist who discovered electromagnetic strengthen Maxwell theory.
Rudolf Hertz was the first to successfully prove the existence of electromagnetic waves by building apparatus to produce and detect radio waves.
Rudolf Hertz died January 1, 1894, his name immortalized as the frequency unit hertz (Hz) as we know it today.
Today, February 22, 2012, marking 155 years since the birth of Rudolf Hertz who is commemorated by Google to make it as a Google Doodle logo today.

Have you ever been on your lunch break, waiting in line at the grocery store, or in between classes, and thought to yourself "If only I had some way to pass the time..." If so you may want to try the popular mobile game, Angry Birds. This thrilling and mentally challenging mobile game, can be played on a iPhone, Android capable device, or online, and it's sure to get your blood pumping and mind racing.
Angry Birds was developed and published by Rovio Mobile Ltd in December 2009. While initially created to operate on the Apple iOS, the games popularity quickly spawned other versions for similar touch-screen based smartphone devices, including those with Android capabilities. Since the development of the game, more than 12 million copies of the application have been sold through the Apple store. The best-selling puzzle game has created chat rooms, websites, and social media all dedicated to Angry Birds strategies techniques, and tips. They are everywhere.
Unlike many video games, and mobile game applications, it is not a mindless exercise. The games requires intense skill, concentration and planning to successfully complete its 120 levels. Spatial reasoning while key to most games, is simply one the fundamental skills required, as players also need to apply logic and even an understanding of physics to battle the pigs, the mortal enemies of the Angry Birds. Of course, player should also be able to exert some brute force in order to carryout the mission of this game. Some people wrongly assume that mobile games are only for teenagers and college students, but they really aren't. Anyone who likes a bit of a mental and physical challenge can enjoy Angry Birds. Likewise, playing them Online can be a great way to pass the time when work slows down.
It is first and foremost a game of revenge. Like the name says, the birds in this game are anything but happy. Their precious egg offspring have been stolen by some thieving green pigs, and its up to them to get mad, kick some pig butt and get their eggs back in one piece. To do this, it must successfully complete many levels of combat with the green pigs. Clever military-like strategies must be employed, including the some challenging physics-based castle demolition. You the player, are the angry bird and it is your job to use your special destructive powers to lay waste to the pigs fortified castles. Only then can you get your eggs back, and achieve your due vengeance. Players must be careful though, as greedy green pigs are not likely to give up without a fight.
Mobile games can give you hours of enjoyment, improve your logic and spatial skills, or just give you a good excuse to stay inside on a rainy day. So don't hesitate to whip out that smartphone, or click that computer screen, you've got a mission to complete, and the Angry Birds need your help.
